NIT MCA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (NIMCET) EXAM PATTERN 2024
The NIMCET 2024 test will be provided with a single question paper including 120 multiple-choice questions covering the subjects as follows. Multiple-choice questions will be written in English alone and will not be translated into any other language.
NIMCET Exam consists of following four sections:
- Mathematics
- Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning
- Computer Awareness
- General English

• Each correctly answered question will receive full marks, while each incorrectly answered question will result in 25% negative marks.
• If candidates are unsure about the right answer, they are advised not to attempt such questions. However, if a question remains unanswered, there will be no deduction from the total score.
• More than one response to a question will be marked negatively.
• The candidates must mark the responses as per the instructions presented on the screen of the NIMCET-2024 online examination.
Qualifying Criteria for Allotment of NIMCET 2024 Rank
The qualifying criteria for rank allotment in NIMCET 2024 are as follows:
- A candidate will be disqualified if they score zero or negative marks either in Mathematics or in Total Marks in the NIMCET-2024 test.
- The rank allotment will be solely based on the rank obtained in NIMCET-2024.
- A candidate's ranking will be determined by their overall weighted score.
- In the event of a tie, the scores in mathematics, analytical ability and logical thinking, and computer awareness will be used to determine the winner.
- If the tie is not resolved by the aforementioned criteria, it will be settled by age, i.e., in favour of the older candidate.
