OVERVIEW OF KSET EXAM DETAILS

The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) is an annual exam conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) to determine the eligibility of candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in universities, colleges, and other institutions of higher education in the state of Karnataka. The purpose of the KSET exam is to qualify candidates for Assistant Professor roles in government, aided, and private colleges/universities in Karnataka.

The KSET 2024 exam will consist of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will be of 100 marks, and Paper 2 will also be of 100 marks. The exam will be conducted in offline mode through OMR sheets, with a total duration of 3 hours.

KSET Notification 2024 was released on the official website KEA on 13th July 2024. Candidates can apply online from 22nd July 2024 to the last date i.e., 22nd August, 2024.

KSET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Nationality- Indian citizenship is mandatory to be eligible for the KSET 2024 exam.

Age limit-

  • There is no upper age limit for candidates applying to KSET 2024
  • The lower age limit is 21 years as on the date of the KSET 2024 notification.

Educational Qualification-

  • General Category: Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC, PWD): Master’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Ph.D. degree holders (completed a Master’s degree on or before September 19, 1991): Master’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Candidates pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course: Can apply if they have appeared for their Master’s degree (final year) and are awaiting results.
  • Candidates who have passed the UGC-NET/CSIR NET examination before 1989: Exempted from appearing for the KSET.
  • Candidates who have cleared the SET accredited by UGC for eligibility for Assistant Professor before June 1, 2002: Exempted from appearing for the KSET and eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions anywhere in India
