OVERVIEW OF KCET EXAM DETAILS 2024

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2024 is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission to various undergraduate courses such as Engineering, B. Pharma, B.Arch, and others in the state of Karnataka. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on April 18 and 19, 2024, and the application form has been released on January 10, 2024, with the last date to submit the form being February 20, 2024(Extended).. The exam will be conducted in offline mode and there is no provision for negative marking. The syllabus for the exam includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology, depending on the course.

KARNATAKA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (KCET) – IMPORTANT DATES

KCET Recruitment 2024 Notification was released on the official website KCET on 10 January 2024. Candidates can apply online from 10 January 2024 to the last date 20 February 2024(Extended). KCET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Nationality- The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit- There is no age limit specified for appearing in the KCET exam.

Educational Qualification-

The eligibility criteria for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2024 for different courses are as follows:

Engineering/Technology Courses (B.E. / B.Tech):

  • Candidates must have passed 2nd PUC/12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computer Science as optional subjects and English as one of the study languages.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is required for general category candidates. For SC, ST, and OBC candidates, the minimum aggregate marks are 40%.

B.Pharma Course:

  • Candidates must have passed 2nd PUC/12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is required for general category candidates. For SC, ST, and OBC candidates, the minimum aggregate marks are 40%.

B.Arch Course:

  • Candidates must have passed 2nd PUC/12th standard or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is required for general category candidates. For SC, ST, and OBC candidates, the minimum aggregate marks are 40%.
  • Candidates must have a valid NATA score.

Farm Science Courses

  • Candidates must have passed in 2nd PUC/ 12th Std./ Equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)

  • Candidates must have passed in 2nd PUC/ 12th Std. and obtained a minimum of 50% in aggregate (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.
  • In the case of B.V.Sc & AH merit will be prepared based on 50% of marks secured in CET (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 50% of marks scored in the practical test.

2nd Year B-Pharma

  • Candidates must have passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Pharma-D

  • Candidates must have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Candidates must have passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Naturopathy & Yoga

  • Candidates must have passed in Q.E. with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. (40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST, Category–I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) Category candidates.)

KCET Examination Centre 2024

  • The exam is conducted in around 54 KCET Exam Centers across 29 districts of Karnataka.
  • Candidates are allowed to choose their preferred exam center while filling out the KCET application form.
  • Once chosen,the exam center cannot be changed.
