BPSC PCS 2023 Exam Syllabus

There are two main written stages in the BPSC Syllabus 2023: Prelims and Mains. The first phase of the qualifying process is the Prelims exam. Candidates that pass the preliminary round proceed on to the usually next step. The Mains and Interview scores will be used to produce the merit list. The courses relating to general knowledge of the Bihar state, such as social science, economy, and polity, is mostly covered in the Bihar PCS Syllabus for Prelims and Mains.

BPSC PRELIMS EXAM SYLLABUS

The BPSC Syllabus for Prelims consists of just one paper on General Studies (GS). In just one exam, students will be evaluated on a wide range of topics, including economic theory, political theory, current affairs, and Bihar state history. The following list of important BPSC Prelims syllabus topics will be covered in the objective written exam-

  • Events of National and international importance
  • General Science
  • Geography and Geography of Bihar
  • History of Bihar and Indian History
  • Changes in the economy of Bihar post-independence
  • Indian Polity and Economy
  • General Mental Ability
  • Indian National Movement and the Role of Bihar

BPSC MAINS EXAM SYLLABUS

The main focus of the BPSC Mains syllabus is on the applicants' understanding of General Studies. The Mains exam will consist of five papers: General Hindi, Essay, General Studies 1 and 2, as well as one optional paper.

The candidates can selectone paper from a list of 34 papersfrom the BPSC Mains syllabus. All the papers except those of General Hindi & Optional Paper will carry 300 marks each and the Hindi & Optional paper will carry 100 marks.

  • COMPULSORY SUBJECT

GENERAL HINDI SYLLABUS

The General Hindi will be qualifying in nature. The exam will be of 100 marks and will be subjective in nature, and the distribution of the marks will be:

Essay: 30 Marks
Grammar: 30 Marks

Summarisation: 15 Marks

Syntax: 25 Marks

HISTORY OF MODERN INDIA & INDIAN CULTURE:

(It will contain the history of India with special reference to Bihar in the middle of 19th century, the introduction and expansion of western and technical education, Bihar’s role in freed, the Santhal uprising in Bihar, Birsa movement, the quit India Movement, chief features of Mauryan, Patna Qulam painting, roles of Tagore, Nehru, and Gandhi)

The ‘Interview’ Round would be called for candidates who had passed the BPSC Mains Exam. A Board that the Commission has appointed conducts interviews with candidates. BPSC PCS 69th Interview will be of 120 Marks.
